So - I haven't blogged in about a year! *slaps wrist* - but I'm ready to start anew. I have a vaguely decent camera now, and many things to waffle about. This blog will still have a music/"style" slant, and I'll put drawings up as and when I do them, but I'll probably blog slightly more about Life in General as well.
A little refresher about me: I'm still a student, studying medicine at Cardiff. I've been doing Neuroscience for the last year which has largely involved me being sat alone in my room reading countless scientific papers, getting cabin fever and cultivating an increasing dependence on Twitter. Miraculously I came out with a 1st, and I'm itching to get back into the 'real world' where I actually get to talk to patients. You won't see a great deal of candid revelations about my placements - for one thing, there's that pesky confidentiality agreement I have to abide to, and I don't want to compromise my course over anything. Plus, as a lighthearted blog, I doubt you really want to read about grotesque medical conditions (unless anyone's willing to offer me the next position in presenting Embarrassing Bodies, in which case I have MANY an amusing anecdote).
What you will see is many more outfit posts documenting my never-ending struggle of 'what the hell do I wear on placement?' Yes, I want to look professional, yes, the clothes I wear need to be practical whilst examining patients, but NO, I do not wish to look like I've dressed with my eyes closed within a style vacuum. Hopefully it'll give you some inspiration as to what you can wear to work (or, alternatively, you can comment, telling me that whatever I'm wearing is ENTIRELY inappropriate. Which would be somewhat amusing but also constructive).
I have to nip off to London now - seeing a dear friend for the last time before he flits across the Atlantic to work in America for a few years - so will update another time, with photos. Sorry for the lack of photos accompanying this post - I had all of my wisdom teeth removed on Friday, so my jaw currently makes me look like the unfortunate lovechild of Marlon Brando and Wallace (of Wallace and Gromit.) FIT. I don't wish to terrify anyone.
Will try and update soon! With vigour anew.
Gem xxx
